Welcome to Positive Intelligence (PQ)

Positive Intelligence (PQ) is a comprehensive approach that combines the latest findings in mental fitness with practical methodologies to foster personal and professional growth. The PQ programme focuses on:

  • Stress Management: Convert stress into a source of strength and resilience.

  • Leadership Enhancement: Cultivate the clarity, confidence, and empathy necessary for effective leadership.

  • Work-Life Harmony: Attain a sustainable balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being.

  • Conflict Resolution: Transform conflicts into opportunities for constructive development.

  • Personal and Professional Excellence: Leverage holistic strategies to thrive in all aspects of life.

Positive Intelligence (PQ) is a concept developed by Shirzad Chamine, which refers to the measure of an individual's mental fitness. It combines insights from neuroscience, positive psychology, cognitive psychology, and performance science to help people improve their mental well-being, achieve greater success, and find deeper fulfilment in life.

Positive Intelligence - How it works

At its core, Positive Intelligence is based on the idea that our minds are constantly influenced by two opposing forces: the “Saboteurs” and the “Sage”. The Saboteurs are negative thought patterns that generate stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and unhappiness. The Sage, on the other hand, represents the positive aspects of our mind that foster creativity, resilience, clarity, and inner peace.

The Saboteurs

The concept identifies ten primary Saboteurs, each embodying different negative thinking patterns:

1. Judge

The master Saboteur that criticizes self, others, and circumstances.

2. Controller

Seeks to take charge and control everything, leading to anxiety.

5. Hyper Achiever

Links self-worth to achievements, causing constant pressure.

8. Restless

Constantly seeks excitement and new experiences, avoiding focus.

3. Stickler

Perfectionist tendencies that can cause frustration and stress.

6. Victim

Emphasizes feelings of helplessness and martyrdom.

9. Hyper Vigilant

Always on high alert, anticipating potential problems.

4. Pleaser

Overly focused on pleasing others, often at one’s own expense.

7. Avoider

Evades difficult tasks and conflicts, leading to procrastination.

10. Hyper Rational

Overemphasis on logic and intellect, often at the cost of emotional connection.

Which is YOUR strongest Saboteur?

The Sage

The Sage, in contrast to the Saboteurs, operates from five key powers: Empathy, Exploration, Innovation, Navigation, and Activation. By tapping into these powers, individuals can approach life’s challenges with a positive and proactive mindset. The Sage's approach encourages individuals to view problems as opportunities and to respond to adversity with resilience and creativity.

Mental Fitness

Positive Intelligence emphasizes the importance of building mental fitness to strengthen the Sage and weaken the Saboteurs. Mental fitness is developed through regular practice and exercises that increase self-awareness and emotional regulation. These exercises often include mindfulness techniques, reflection, and mental strategies designed to intercept negative thoughts and reframe them positively.

Here's what one client says:

“The Positive Intelligence programme has had a truly life-changing impact on me. As Cécile guided me through the training, her questions, wisdom and support were invaluable and I continue to be amazed that every week, our sessions offer me new, critical, insights, allowing me to deepen my development and continue to grow as a leader and colleague as well as personally."

"Being part of a Pod was also valuable, as it provided a safe space for growth, reflection, and encouragement from like-minded individuals, a supportive community that kept me accountable and motivated throughout.

"The combination of PQ practices and the support of the Pod has allowed me to break free from self-sabotaging behaviours. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of myself and how to cultivate a positive mindset, which has been invaluable in both my personal and professional life. Over the last few weeks, I have taken steps to engage with my colleagues differently, to step out of my comfort zone and to really be the best leader I know I can be, without any sabotage. I feel more empowered and equipped to handle pressure and uncertainty, and I'm deeply grateful for this experience.

"This programme has truly been a game-changer, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their well-being and performance.”
